Webinar | Masculinity, Identity and the Rise of the Manosphere, with Steven Roberts (Inner Circle Members Only)

Join us for an exclusive webinar with Steven Roberts, where we'll explore the rise of the Manosphere and the factors shaping modern masculinity and male identity.

Conversations about the “manosphere” have rapidly moved from the fringes of internet culture into mainstream public debate.

From influencers like Andrew Tate to online communities centred around masculinity, status, dating and power, these spaces are increasingly shaping how many boys and young men understand identity, relationships, success and belonging in a rapidly changing world.

But beyond the headlines, what is actually driving the rise of these movements?

In this thought-provoking session, Professor Steven Roberts will explore the social, cultural and economic conditions contributing to the growth of the manosphere, drawing on his research into masculinity, youth identity, gender politics and digital culture.

Rather than reducing the conversation to simplistic narratives around “good” or “bad” men, this discussion will examine the deeper tensions shaping masculinity in contemporary society, including economic insecurity, loneliness, status anxiety, shifting gender expectations and the growing influence of digital culture and algorithm-driven content.

Together, we’ll explore what the rise of the manosphere reveals about wider societal change, and the implications this has for workplaces, leadership, relationships and culture more broadly.

Topics explored will include:

  • The evolution of the manosphere and online masculinity culture

  • Why certain narratives are resonating with boys and young men

  • The relationship between gender, identity, work and social change

  • The role of social media platforms and algorithmic amplification

  • Online misogyny, power and cultural backlash

  • How organisations, educators and communities can engage more constructively with these issues

Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of one of the most influential cultural movements shaping modern gender discourse today, alongside greater insight into how digital culture, technology and societal change are influencing identity, behaviour and workplace dynamics in increasingly complex ways.

This session is designed to encourage thoughtful, evidence-informed discussion around one of the most complex and emotionally charged cultural conversations shaping modern society today.
