WOMEN IN CX UNCONFERENCE 2026
Open Space At WiCX UnConference
Human-Centred AI Collaboration For Accelerating Responsible Action
The WiCX Open Space methodology is designed to help attendees move beyond discussion and towards collective insight, synthesis and responsible action.
Built Around:
Collaborative discussion
Physical canvases
AI-assisted thematic analysis
Structured sense-making
… and live playback
We create the playbook together.
Community-Shaped From The Start
The WiCX UnConference theme and core discussion topics are shaped through the conversations already happening across the WiCX community throughout the year.
The discussions, tensions and challenges emerging across our events, webinars, roundtables and community conversations throughout 2026 are what led us towards:
Accelerating Responsible Action
Beyond Understanding
Beyond Journey Management
Beyond Automation
The Conversation Starts Before You Arrive
Ahead of the event, ticket holders are then invited to contribute:
the challenges they are navigating
the conversations they believe the industry needs to have
and the questions they most want to explore together
These insights help shape and refine the breakout questions explored during the Open Space sessions themselves.
The conversations are not imposed top-down.
They are shaped collaboratively by the community before the event even begins
Inspiration Panels with Q&A
Each Open Space theme begins with an expert-led panel conversation designed to open up the topic before the room moves into breakout discussions.
The panels bring together women working across customer experience, transformation, AI, design and operations to surface:
Tensions organisations are navigating
Practical realities behind the theory
Emerging shifts shaping what comes next
These are not passive keynote sessions.
They are designed to spark the room’s thinking, challenge assumptions and create the foundation for the collaborative conversations that follow.
Designed Around Collective Intelligence
Attendees then move into their choice of facilitated breakout groups to collaboratively explore the challenges shaping the future of experience leadership.

Attendees work in small groups using:
A3 collaborative canvases
post-it notes
structured prompts
and facilitated discussion
Designed to create:
psychological safety
broader participation
and deeper conversation
Step 1.
Small Group Exploration
Each small group contributes its thinking onto one shared A0 breakout canvas.
As ideas build across the wall, collective thinking begins to emerge across the room in real time.
Step 2.
One Shared Collective Canvas
At key moments throughout the session, the evolving canvas is photographed and analysed using AI-supported thematic synthesis.
The AI Facilitator helps identify:
emerging themes
recurring patterns
tensions
contradictions
and future-facing ideas
Not to replace human thinking.
But to help groups make sense of complexity together.
Step 3.
AI-Supported Live Synthesis
Step 4.
Human Sense-Checking
The group then reconvenes to review and challenge the emerging synthesis together.
Participants:
refine themes
challenge assumptions
preserve nuance
and shape the meaning collectively
AI supports synthesis.
Humans remain responsible for meaning.
Each breakout ends by turning the group’s collective thinking into a short playback for the wider room. The playback captures:
one shared Big Takeaway
the strongest insight
what emerged
practical implications
a provocation for the room
and what needs to happen next
This is not about presenting every idea.
It is about sharing the meaning the group created together.
Step 5.
Structured Playback
Each playback contributes towards the live UnConference Playbook, built collaboratively throughout the event itself.
Not a post-event report but a living synthesis shaped by the intelligence emerging across the room in real time.
Across the event, these outputs become:
shared insights
unresolved tensions
practical implications
future-facing provocations
and a collective blueprint for responsible action
STEP 6.
We Create The Playbook Together
Designed Intentionally Differently
The methodology is intentionally designed to feel:
collaborative rather than performative
structured but not over-controlled
practical without becoming workshop-heavy
and human-led while still AI-enabled
The goal is not a polished consensus. The goal is collective sense-making, reflection and responsible action.
